Facilitating normal physiological function through the current of healing Keith F. Cutting, MSc, Sylvie Hampton PosiFectª is a new treatment modality for recalcitrant wounds. The treatment is based on a technology that restores the endogenous ionic current that is missing in non-healing wounds. This technology dovetails with normal physiological function and activates the current of healing The process of tissue repair is dynamic and complicated. As our knowledge increases so we should consider innovative (non-traditional) approaches to management where indicated Evidence from the literature indicates that electrical stimulation as a wound therapy is not widely appreciated but none the less should be considered as recent clinical experience1 indicates the benefit of PosiFectª in non-healing leg ulcers This poster presents the background to B.E.S.T. (bio electrical stimulation therapy) and illustrates its positive effects via a case report . Hampton S, King L. Healing an intractable wound using bio-electric stimulation therapy.
